Is Meru a real publisher?
Yes. Meru is the self-publishing imprint of Garuda Prakashan, an established boutique publisher with real editors, world-class typesetting, and a list booksellers and readers trust. You're working with a real publisher — not a faceless app, and not a vanity press that prints anything.
Do I keep the rights to my book?
Yes — completely. You are the author and the rights holder. Meru is your publisher and distributor; we never take ownership of your work.
What does ₹19,999 include?
Everything to get published: a professionally typeset interior, a cover, both ebook and paperback, your own real ISBN, listing on Amazon (KDP), IngramSpark and ebook stores worldwide, and a proofread before it goes live. One flat fee — no subscription.
What about my royalties?
You pay Meru once. On every sale you earn the retailer's royalty — and we show you the exact per-copy figure before you publish, so you price with real numbers. We don't bill you again or take a recurring slice of your earnings. (We'll be straight with you: like every publisher, a margin on printing is part of how the service is funded — we'd rather tell you than pretend otherwise.)
How fast is it really?
Your decision and assessment are same-day. From there your book is typically live on Amazon in days — not the weeks other services take, or the months (and maybes) of traditional publishing.
Will my book be accepted?
We publish the great majority of finished books that reach us — debut authors and established voices alike. If yours needs a little polish to be ready, we'll tell you honestly and help you get there. (More on

What kinds of books can you publish?
Text-based books — fiction, poetry, non-fiction, self-help, memoir, history and more (with light images). Heavily illustrated children's picture books and full-colour / photo books aren't supported just yet; they're coming in a dedicated pack — tell us and we'll let you know the moment it's ready.
India only, or worldwide?
Both. We issue Indian and US ISBNs and distribute to Amazon worldwide plus bookstores and libraries via IngramSpark. Publish for India, the world, or both.
I'm already on Amazon KDP. Why use Meru?
KDP makes you do everything yourself — formatting, cover, ISBN, fixing rejections — and prints abroad, so Indian readers get costly imports. Meru does it all for you, to a real publisher's standard, with local print and a real ISBN, fast.
